통합교육 현장에서의 협력적 언어치료 서비스에 대한 교사들과 치료사의 인식

Perceptions of Teachers and Speech and Language Pathologists on Speech Therapy Using Collaborative Approach in Inclusive Education Settings

  본 연구는 통합된 환경에서 언어치료 서비스를 제공한 후 치료 진행과정에 참여한 전문가들과의 면접을 통해 학교 중심 언어치료 과정에서 느끼는 장점, 갈등, 문제점 그리고 이를 해결하기 위한 노력이 무엇 인지 등에 관해 질적 분석 방법으로 알아보았다. 언어치료사는 일반학교와 통합유치원에 소속되어 있는 4명의 장애학생에게 언어치료 서비스를 제공하였고 치료과정은 특수교사, 일반교사, 언어치료사간의 협력적 접근을 통해 진행되었다. 참여자들은 통합 환경에서의 언어치료 서비스가 대상아동의 표현력과 자신감 향상과 참여 전문가의 의사소통 중재에 관한 자질향상에 긍정적인 효과를 가져다주었고, 각각의 학교 내에서 적용 가능한 언어치료 모형에 관한 장단점을 언급하였다. 참여자들은 학교 중심 언어치료의 활성화를 위한 개선 방안으로 전문가간의 협력적 관계 구축을 위한 참여자의 자질 및 행정적 지원들이 필요하다고 요구하였다. 본 연구는 특수교육 현장에서 통합된 치료 모델이 강조되고 있는 시점에 학교중심 언어치료서비스 제공 모형을 개발하는데 유용한 정보를 제공 할 뿐 아니라 학교 언어치료사를 양성하기 위한 교육과정 개발에 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

  The present study examined the perceptions of teachers and speech language pathologists(SLP) who provided speech therapy using collaborative approach in inclusive school settings. Four teachers(two regular education teachers and two special education teachers) and two SLP participated in a school-based collaborative speech therapy and were interviewed individually. The process of collaborative speech therapy was consisted of four steps such as training of collaborative process, collaborative assessment and diagnosis, setting up the goal of language skill, providing speech therapy and monitoring students progress. Four students in an inclusive elementary school and preschool received speech therapy on a weekly basis for one semester. Results indicated that the students showed improvement in expression skill and gained confidence in themselves. The professionals who participated in the collaborative speech therapy process reported that they gained professional growth, especially on knowledge and skills of language intervention. With the results, advantages and disadvantages of three possible speech therapy models in inclusive school settings were addressed. Implications on the opportunities for collaborative school-based speech therapy were also discussed. The study provided fundamental data to develop school-based speech therapy models and professional training program.
