1894~1902년간 釜山의 米價와 韓錢比價의 聯關性

The Relation between the Busan"s Rice Price and the Hangeonbiga for 1894～1902

&nbsp;&nbsp;개항 후 조선경제는 대외교역과정에서 산지금의 부등가 수출, 미곡의 방매, 한전의 상품화 등을 통해 교란된다. 본고는 그 같은 개항기 특유의 여건 속에서, 부산의 미가와 한전비가가 1894년 이후 대일 교역의 품목과 금액의 양적증가에 따라, 서로 일정한 연관관계를 갖는가를 검증해 본 것이다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;부산 미가와 한전비가의 추이를 시계열 도표로 보면, 백동화의 남발로 물가가 오르기 시작한 1899년 이후는 미가의 급격한 상승과 한전비가의 급격한 하락이 상당히 뚜렷한 대조를 나타내었다. 부산 미가와 한전비가에 대한 통계적 검증을 시행해 보면, 미가와 한전비가는 상호간 인과관계가 있었다. 하지만 양자 간에 장기적인 균형관계를 나타내는 공적분관계는 없었다. 이와같은 분석결과는 교역이 발전할수록 물가와 환율의 쌍방 인과성이 커지며, 인플레이션율이 높아질 때 양자의 관계는 더욱 밀접해진다는 이론에 부합되는 것이다.

&nbsp;&nbsp;Since the opening of its ports, the Chosun economy became disturbanced through the trade with Japan as sales of the primary productions, and the commercialization of hangeon(韓錢 : Korean currency), and so on. This paper verified that with trade between the two countries developed under such a given condition since 1894, what correlation the Busan&quot;s rice price and hangeonbiga(韓錢比價: Japanese yen exchange rate of the Chosun&quot;s open port) had have between. For it, this paper first observed the time series charts. The correlation coefficient between the two was -0.55 and its correlation was overall not high. However, especially the period after 1899 when prices began to rise due to the overissue of bekdonghwa(白銅貨) showed that clearly the rapid rise of rice price and the sharp drop of hangeonbiga. Next, this paper carried out a statistical analysis toward rerationship between the two of the Busan&quot;s rice price and the hangeonbiga, and discovered the causality between the two. But there was no cointegration relationship which showing the long-run relationship between the two.
