The Relationship between Quality of Life and the Satisfaction of Home Visits as Nursing Services in Community Residents

  Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relationship of quality of life and satisfaction of visiting nursing services in community residents. Method: The subjects were randomly selected, 1,201, who all had a chronic disease with basic social welfare services from a nation in an urban community, South Korea. The instruments were used in the family nursing phenomena in Korea by ICNP and client satisfaction. The satisfaction consisted of client satisfaction on home visiting nurses and home visiting services. Result: The average nurse visiting number was 4.18. The number of service facilities of measurement and diagnosis 3.93, education/counselling 3.90, medication & medication management 3.67, symptom management 3.57, examination 1.65, treatment 1.60, and referral to medical service institute 0.27. The satisfaction level of the clients on the nurses was on average 3.33 points in the scale between 0 and 4. The quality of life with home visiting nursing service in community residents showed mean score of 3.07. The mean score of general health state was 3.91 and physical strength was 3.37 in order. The lowest was degree of limitation on general physical activity with the score of 2.81 points in a total scale between o and 4. The relationship between nurse visit frequency and satisfaction of service was r=0.136 (p=0.001), and quality of life and satisfaction of home visiting service was r=0.286 (p=0.000). Conclusion: Home visiting nursing services should continue to analyse effectiveness of home health care service and satisfaction of home health care service.
