&nbsp;&nbsp;Venerable Seongchol, through his entire life, strove to improve the facing problems of the Korean Buddhism. According to practical direction, without reformation of the Seon School, they could not take part in role in spiritual field in the Korean society. Such innovative direction that coincided with the spirit of Buddhist reformation as flowed continually from the Modern age.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;As he proposed initially the reformation within the Seon School, regarding the economic issue in the monastery that need to change. It is concerned to be obstacle for practice because our society lost the sense of balance about material as burden of hankering. One way of solving the matter, as advocated by him, every income within the Buddhist field should collect in the central administration, which used befit for all practitioners equally.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;He strove diligently to offer the solution both the Buddhist reformation within and extending of influence in the future society. It means that the Buddhism become to be popularization by extending in the lowest stratum of society. For sake of such popularization, what first to do is to missionary work, preaching the Dharma actively.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;Venerable Seongchol has been proposed many plans for the popularization of Buddhism. The most important one was the training a talented person. That was the program for cultivating leader who understands especially the content of techniques in Buddhism and able to practice it. This was the system of the Dharma teacher who can be marry like other religion, but whose job, throughout one&quot;s life, follows the Buddha&quot;s teaching and spread it in the society.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;This plan was not actually fulfilled, however he did foresight about future society where the existing practitioners could not respond according to the specific demand for the Korean Buddhism.
