Discrimination of Gifted Children and Creativity Tests

  본 연구에서는 영재 연구에서 창의성이 차지하는 위치와 다양한 창의성 측정 검사의 장단점을 알아보고, 앞으로 영재 판별도구로써 창의성 검사가 신뢰할 수 있는 타당한 도구로 자리매김하기 위해서 개선해야 할 점에 대해 살펴보았다. 자료를 조사한 결과 영재교육 현장에서 창의성 검사를 사용하지 않는 경우도 있었고 사용한다고 해도 그 영향력은 IQ와 학업성적에 비해 매우 미약한 정도였다. 이러한 원인은 한편으로 교육현장에서 창의적 영재에 대한 이해가 부족하기 때문이었고 다른 한편으로는, 검사도구가 갖는 문제(확산적 사고력 위주의 창의성 검사에서 탈피하고, 문화적 특수성을 고려하는 것과 영역 특수성을 고려하고, 피검사자의 내적 동기를 유도하는 것 그리고 검사의 신뢰도와 타당도를 높이는 것 등)에도 기인하는 것으로 논의되었다.

  This study examined the position of creativity in the study of gifted children and the advantages and disadvantages of creativity as a measurement of gifted children. We also discussed how to improve the creativity measurement to make the creativity measurement a instrument of measurement for gifted children. From our data, we found that the creativity measurements do not contribute significantly to the identification of gifted children. This is due to the deficit of comprehension about creative gifted children I s behavior in the field of education. Another reason is related with the problems of creativity measurement. The measurement of creativity has to stop to rely exclusively on divergent thinking and take more account on cultural difference, domain speciality, and encouragement of internal motivation, and amelioration of reliability and property.
