In Vitro Study of Femoral Canal Shaping by a Femur Mounted Mini Robot

Robotic Total hip arthroplasty using gauge based registration and a femur mounted mini robot has been introduced. To assess the performance of the proposed system, canals of 5 cadaver femurs were machined by the developed system. The results of the in vitro experiment are discussed and announced. The accuracy of the robot was evaluated quantitatively, and it was comparable or better then previous THA surgery robot systems.
