The Limits of the View of Self-controling Self and its Educational Alternative

&nbsp;&nbsp;The purpose of this essay is to make clear the view of self-controling self and its limits and to explore educational alternative of the conception of self. The view of self-controling self emphasizes the abstract and autonomous view of self. This has some limits in terms of concept and education.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;Especially, this study pays attention to some problems can be brought about when the arguments in political philosophy of liberal autonomous self were directly introduced to educational theory. Radical choosers take sceptical views of education, because they regard education as constraint of the autonomy of pupils. And it has tendency to be indifferent to the developing self through education, because the view of autonomous self is primarily interested in mature adult&quot;s self. Philosophers of education should think much of &quot;the developing selves&quot; of pupils.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;Alternative conception beyond the limits of the view of autonomous self argues for the complexities of self and developing self through education. It argues that personhood(self) is shaping through dynamic process in social context. It explores how we shape the alternative self through autonomy education.
