A Study on the Construction of New Busan International Airport for Intermodal Transportation Competitive Advantage as World City

&nbsp;&nbsp;The importance of the Asia-Pacific region in the global air transport has increased. The exchange of human and material resources, services, and information in Northeast Asia, which is expected to increase in the near future, requires that the Hub-airport. Busan has Kimhae international airport after 1976. But, a serious shortage in international airport facilities has caused refused to flight service.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;The objective of this paper is to suggest the airport competitive strategies in Busan, Korea to cope with changes in international logistics environments, the task of Busan city is to construct New international airport in Busan region. As a result, the New Busan international airport has to be constructed to enhance competitiveness of air cargo transportation logistics. In the last analysis, this research aimed for the empirical test on the strategic behavior and it&quot;s managerial performance in korean port logistics industry. And we described this paper as an outcome of introductive study focused on the industrial organization of port stevedoring industry. Under this gloomy circumstance, we tried an empirical test on the geographically diversification strategy and some managerial performances of port stevedoring companies. As a result of ANOVA test, there are prominent differences in management scale but no critical difference appeared in productivity and growth variables between the diversification groups.
