The present writer inquired into both the Buddhist’s attitude and avow to establish the ideology for the movement of exalting life Buddhism and the theories to explain life Buddhism and its doctrinal basis. Consequently, we could know the movement of exalting life Buddhism is practicing of the great compassion(無緣慈悲) itself and displaying the Buddha-nature. As we saw through this paper, however, the assertion that we should make life Buddhism be widely known doesn’t merely appear in these days. It is what a number of Buddhist thinkers had insisted throughout Buddhist history in India. Therefore, we can say that Chinese Buddhism had also tried to exalt life Buddhism and so did Korean Buddhism.<BR> However, a previous movement of life Buddhism either was limited partially or couldn’t develop into a well-organized campaign continuously. Although the social and popular movement of modern Korean Buddhism also can’t say that it has no connection with life movement, it reveals limits of unsystematic and sporadic.<BR> Reflecting on these points, the present writer is eager to assert that the movement of exalting life Buddhism must not stop just as a slogan and it should systematize or sublimate into the social movement or the religious one. It is sure we can’t say that the movement of exalting life Buddhism is able to succeed under the social recognition or the administrative system of the temple like nowadays. It needs communicate with other people and have to establish the energetic structure systematically to accomplish it. If it’s possible, the present writer would like to say the movement of exalting life Buddhism is the most suitable as a Buddhist value that can lead the Buddhist campaign of the 21th century. Desiring to turn Korean Buddhism expansive, therefore, I am willing to recommend Buddhism of exalting life as a basic agenda for the Korean Buddhist campaign in the 21th century.
