완벽주의 척도의 타당도 재검증

Revisiting the Validities of the Perfectionism Scale

  이 연구는 Hewitt과 Flett(1991c)이 제안하고 이를 바탕으로 이기종(2006)이 재구성한 완벽주의 척도의 타당도를 재검증하기 위한 것이다. 표본크기 518명을 대상으로 한 확인적 요인분석은 Hewitt과 Flett(1991c), 이기종(2006)이 각각 제안한 연구모형이 수집된 자료에 합치하지 못함을 보여주고 있다. 이런 결과는 완벽주의를 측정하는 각각의 문항이 하나의 하위요인을 고유하게 측정해야 함에도 여러 개의 하위요인을 동시에 측정하고 있는 것이 하나의 이유일 수 있으며, 또 하나는 완벽주의 자체가 Hewitt과 Flett(1991c), 이기종(2006)이 생각하는 것과는 다른 실재를 갖는 것일 수 있다. 이런 유추는 탐색적 요인분석으로 뒷받침된다. 따라서 완벽주의 척도를 구성하는 각각의 문항이 우리의 사회ㆍ문화적 배경이 반영되는 방향으로 다시 제작될 필요가 있으며 이를 바탕으로 자료를 수집하여 완벽주의의 실재를 다시 규명할 필요가 있다.

  This study investigates the validities of the perfectionism scale, especially with intent to scrutinize the structures of two models of perfectionism scale suggested by Hewitt & Flett(1991c) and Rhee(2006), separately, with the help of LISREL 8.3 using the sample size of 518. The results show that the two models do not fit into the data collected, and that the two do not represent the reality as is. It is implied that the items observing the subfactors of perfectionism do not measure the subfactors appropriately. In consequence, the perfectionism scale should be reexamined in terms of theoretical and empirical evidences from the origin.
