The discussed thesis is summarized like the followings.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;Dream in the classical novel is treated as a main subject matter of the work. When the dream has some suggestive facts, interpretation should be done. According to the difficulty of interpretation, the interpretation of dream in the classical novel is done by dream experts or ordinary people. Interpretation of dream is showed in the classical novel frequently. At the same time, it shows various forms, done by interpreting symbols, association, and reversed interpretation.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;The interpretation intervening in the classical novel has lots of functions in the novel. For example, it can indicate the passage of time to the characters and readers, cause readers to have interests, make dramatic reversed effect, and give satirical effect to the work. Since the interpretation intervening in classical novels is an essential element in the structure of the work, the discussion on the interpretation of dream should begin in earnest.
