A Study on the Based Scriptures and Philosophical Foundation of Worincheongangjigok

&nbsp;&nbsp;This study as a preliminary step for Wolincheongangjigok&quot;s narrative structure and literary characteristics, explicates the whole construction of Wolincheongangjigok including the non-transmitted Wolincheongangjigok, and its based scriptures, and investigates the based scriptures&quot; characteristics and significance. As a result, I can find out that in Wolincheongangjigok, such Buddhist bibles considered important in heavenly bliss ceremonies as Beophwagyeong(法華經), Amitagyeong(阿彌陀經), and Gwanmuryangsugyeong(觀無量壽經) etc. are more weakened than in Seokbosangjeol, and instead, the importance of such Buddhist bibles as Daebangpyeonbulboeungyeong(大方便佛 報恩經) and Taejajudaenagyeong(太子須大拏經) etc…, which emphasize and present the importance and methods of gratitude is strengthened.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;This fact shows that the interest of Wolincheongangjigok lies in the problem of ethics, the reason of which is that &quot;gratitude&quot; and its practical virtues including alms, filial piety, and abstinence are methods for one to make lucks and charity as a Buddhist, and at the same time, have the status of life rules that a social member should respect. On the other hand, the ethic interest of Wolincheongangjigok from the perspective of its writer is connected with enlightenment of people. That is to say, Wolincheongangjigok was published for the necessity of enlightenment of people as well as for the purpose of faith and prayer, and was more strengthened on the side of ethic-enlightening characteristics than Seokbosangjeol, considering its based scriptures.
