미술교육에서의 공공미술 활용방안 연구

A Study on the Utilization of Public Arts in Art Education

  20세기 이후 모더니즘 예술 자체에 대한 비판이 사회 전반에 확산되고 있는 공공성의 유행과 맞물려, 오늘날 공공미술은 최대의 전성기를 맞이하고 있다. 본 연구는 이와 같은 사회문화적 변화를 배경으로, 우리 주변에서 쉽게 접할 수 있는 공공미술 작품을 적극적으로 활용하여 아동ㆍ청소년들의 정서와 시각적 사고를 자극함으로써 생활 속에서의 자연스런 미적 체험의 기회를 제공하는 교재화의 제언을 목적으로 한다. 이를 구체화하기 위해 단순한 작품 감상활동에서 벗어나, 일상적으로 친숙해 있는 공공미술작품의 가치를 재발견하고, 공공적인 환경의 장소성과 구체적인 조형작품과의 관계성에 기초한 비판적인 시각적 사고력을 신장시킨다는 관점에서 공공미술의 의의 및 교육으로의 활용방안을 모색하였다. 본 연구가 추구하는 바와 같이, 공공미술의 전개과정과 관련된 다양한 각도에서의 함의 및 사회문화적 가치 담론은 미술교육에 있어서 폭넓은 시각문화교육으로의 확장을 가능케 할 것이다.

&nbsp;&nbsp;The public art works are very familiar in our daily life; needless to say that the traditional viewpoint that artworks are only placed in art galleries and museums has been changed. Especially after late twentieth century, when the skepticism against modern art has spread out, the public art is now on the heyday.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;This current phenomenon is not only giving chance to broaden the views and contents of general art area, but also to the areas of art education. Variety of visual artworks will give fundamentals for creative art experiences of students themselves.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;Therefore, according to this aspect, the aim of this study is to suggest textbooks of which contains easily approachable public artworks, so that we can naturally inspire artistic mind of children and the young by giving them more chance to meet and expose themselves with public artworks. Furthermore, rather than simply seeing those art works, this study focuses on the needs of environmental art education and public arts, in terms of cultivating critical conception of students and making them understand the relationship and interactions between public space and works of art.
