K-DTVP2 검사를 활용한 미술표현 능력과 시지각 발달과의 상관성 연구

A Study on The Correlation between The Ability of Art Expression and Visual Perception Using K-DTVP-2

  본 연구는 아동기의 미술표현 능력의 수준과 시지각 발달과의 상관성을 밝히고, 미술표현 능력 측정 도구 개발을 위한 기초 자료의 수집 및 분석을 목적으로 한다. 미술표현 능력 검사는 검사 대상자들의 드로잉 작품을 자료로, 시지각 능력 검사는 한국판 시지각 발달 검사(K-DTVP2)를 활용했으며 수집된 데이터는 통계프로그램인 SPSS 12.0 for Window로 분석되었다. 미술표현 능력 검사의 우수 집단과 보통 집단 간에는 시지각 발달 검사의 모든 항목들에서 평균값의 차이가 나타났으며, 특히 형태항상성, 시각운동속도, 시각통합의 3개 시지각 항목들은 통계적으로 유의한 수준에서 두 집단 간의 차이를 판별하고 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 반면 연령 변수와 두 집단 간의 미술표현 능력에는 상관이 매우 낮은 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구는 지금까지 현상학적 관점에서 논의 되어온 미술표현 능력과 시지각 발달과의 상관성을 실증적인 자료분석을 통해 밝히고 있으며 미술표현 능력 검사 도구 개발에 필요한 기초 자료를 제시하고 있다.

&nbsp;&nbsp;The purpose of this study was to: (1) identify the correlation between the ability of art expression and visual perception; (2) collect and analyze data based on visual perception for developing an identification tool to be used in visual art.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;In order to measure the ability of art expression, an evaluating system for student&quot;s drawing was developed by researchers. With this system, each drawing work was evaluated according to two stages; first, appreciating holistically art work without being given any information about, for example, age and gender, nor consultation among researchers, three experts of art education ranked and categorized works into 3 groups, - high, middle and low level. In second stage, those works are mingled back together and evaluated by same researchers with Likert scales relating to line, form and composition, without knowing previous scrore. In case of obtaining data for visual perception, Korean Development Test of Visual Perception 2(originally developed by Hammil, Pearson, &amp; Voress in 1993) was used.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;We found that there was Mean Difference in all 8 visual perceptual items of K-DTVP2 between high scored and low scored groups in drawing. Especially 3 visual perceptual items-Form constancy, Visualmotor speed and Visual closure, were major components which identify two groups with the significant level p≤0.05. As far as age variable was concerned, however, there was no any meaningful correlation with art expression. With this research, we concluded that visual perception is correlated with art expression and the more visual perception level advanced, the higher score children get in drawing. And also age itself does not guarantee the quality of art work.
