Expression of HLA-DQB1 0602 and HLA-DQA1 0102 in obstructive sleep apnea

  In the Obstructive sleep apnea(OSA), the probability of outbreak for the cardiovascular, hypertensive disease and the percentage of mortality rate for the heart atteck are highter in the hypertensive patient than in the healthy person. Recently, OSA have been reported at increased frequency in narcoleptic patients and narcolepry in known to be tightly associated with the HLA DQB1 0602. In this study we investigated the association of OSA with DQB1 0602 and HLA DQA1 0102. Thirty nine patients with OSA identified by polysomnography and sixty four normal controls without OSA were genotyped with respect to HLA DQB1 0602 using PCR-based assays. HLA DQB1 positivity were 74.4%(29/34) In OSA and 65.6%(42/64) in normal control(P<0.388). HLA DQA1 0102 positivity were 38.5%(15/39) in OSA and 37.5%(24/64) in normal control. But the difference between two groups was not statistically significant (P<0.923).
