청소년기의 자살 인지양식에 대한 환경요인의 영향

The Effects of Environmental Factors on the Suicidal Cognitive Pattern in Adolescence

&nbsp;&nbsp;이 연구는 청소년기에 발생하는 자살과 관련된 두 인지적 변인, 자살생각과 자살의견에 영향을 미치는 환경변인들의 관계성을 규명하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 이 연구는 한국사회조사연구소가 2003년에 설문 조사한『청소년 생활통계연보』에 수록된 자료를 사용하여 실증 분석한 것이다. 이 연구에 사용된 조사대상자는 청소년기에 있는 중학교와 고등학교 재학생이다. 이 연구의 종속변인은 두 인지양식, 즉 자살생각과 자살의견이며, 독립변인은 환경변인으로서 가정환경과 학교환경, 그리고 기본변인으로서 성, 지역규모, 학교등급 등이 포함되었다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;연구 분석의 결과에 의하면, 종속변인 중에서 자살생각은 가정환경보다 학교환경 변인의 영향을 더 다양하게 받고 있다. 그 중에서도 집단 따돌림의 피해경험 뿐만 아니라 가해경험도 통계적으로 유의미한 관계를 가지는 변인으로 확인되고 있다는 것은 주목할 만하다. 또 다른 종속변인인 자살의견의 경우에서, 통계적 유의미성을 나타내는 주요 독립변인들은 대학에 진학하려는 의사, 집단 따돌림의 피해 경험, 그리고 여성 변인들이다. 이 연구에서 사용된 종속변인인 자살생각과 자살의견에 대한 독립변인들 간의 일치하지 않는 통계적 유의미성의 차이는 독립변인 효과의 차이 이외에도 청소년 본인 스스로가 처한 환경에서 가지는 자살생각이라는 주관적인 인지양식과 사회에서 발생하고 있는 객관적 사실로서의 자살의견이라는 객관적인 인지양식 간을 차별하는 청소년들의 태도 차이를 드러내는 것이라고 해석할 수 있을 것이다. 인지양식에 영향을 미치는 환경 변인들의 성격을 규명한 연구결과는, 청소년 자살의 위험 환경을 확인하고 위험 환경 속에서 형성되고 있는 자살에 대한 청소년들의 인지적 개연성을 예측하여 청소년 자살을 감소시키기 위한 방안모색의 근거가 될 것이다.

&nbsp;&nbsp;Adolescence is a time of expanding vulnerabilities and being exposed to self-destructive behavior such as suicide, due to cognitive development.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;This research has been designed to explain the significant relationship between two suicidal cognitive patterns being expressed ahead of adolescent suicidal behavior and adolescent&quot;s environmental factors, and to take effective precautions and draw up programs against adolescent&quot;s suicide.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;The analyses considers two kinds of suicidal cognitive patterns-suicidal ideation and suicidal opinion-as dependent variables, family environmental factors and school environmental factors as independent variables, and several demographic variables, using the data from a survey of nationally representative samples of adolescents which was collected by Korea Social Research Center in 2003.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;The analyses of data indicate that adolescent suicidal ideation as a subjective cognitive pattern and their suicidal opinion as a objective cognitive pattern are differently affected by independent variables. Adolescent suicidal ideation is more diversely affected by school environment factors than those of family factors, especially with the significant influence of the experience being victims as well as perpetrators of exclusion from peer groups. Adolescent suicidal opinion has distinctly positive relationships with the intention to enter college, the experience of being victims of exclusion from peer groups, and the female factor.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;In addition to the different effects of independent variables, the difference in the effectiveness among independent variables on the two dependent variables can be interpreted to be the difference in inherent characteristics of suicidal ideation and suicidal opinion that represent the subjective and objective cognitive patterns, respectively.
