Knowing ABCs about Elder Abuse

  이 연구를 통하여 노인학대의 개념을 정리하고 노인학대 측정도구를 개발하였으며 전국민의 노인학대에 대한 의식을 알아보고 노인학대의 실체를 어느 정도 파악할 수 있었다. 단, 조사비용과 시간의 제약으로 인하여 노인학대의 완전한 모습을 보여주지는 못하였다. 이 연구와 그동안 이루어진 노인학대 관련 연구들의 결과를 종합하여 우리 사회의 노인학대 문제해결을 위하여 노인학대 예방, 피학대노인과 부양가족을 위한 지지망 강화 그리고 노인학대 방지 및 개입을 위한 법적 제도적 장치 마련 등의 7가지 단기과제와 6가지 중장기 과제를 제시하였다.

  The outcomes of this research were sound definition and measuring instrument of elder abuse, and clear picture of attitude toward elder abuse and sketch of the actual state of elder abuse. However, we could not draw the clear picture of the actual state of elder abuse due to financial and time limits. Based on the results of the research and other studies, we suggested 7 short-term and 6 mid and long-term plans including prevention of elder abuse, support system for the abused elderly and caregiver, and legal and systematic methods of prevention and intervention.
