본 연구의 목적은 청소년을 대상으로 성역할정체성 척도를 개발하는 것이다. 청소년 성역할정체성 척도는 문헌고찰 및 분석, 문항개발, 예비검사 실시, 본 검사 실시의 절차를 거쳐 진행되었다. 1차적으로 남녀 청소년들로부터 우리 사회에서 남자와 여자의 성격적？사회적 특성이라고 간주하고 있는 성격 단어를 수집한 후, 이 결과와 성역할 관련 문헌연구를 통하여 얻은 성격 단어를 추가하여 188개의 성격 문항을 구성하였다. 이 188개의 성격 문항이 어느 성에 더 바람직한 성격인지를 질문하는 2차 검사를 통하여 유의한 차이를 나타내는 문항을 여성성 문항과 남성성 문항으로 선정하였다. 최종적으로 여성성, 남성성 각 18문항과 중립문항 14문항으로 구성된 청소년 성역할정체성 척도를 개발하였다. 이 척도는 .77에서 .87에 이르는 높은 신뢰도를 보였으며 안면타당도 검증과 내용타당도 검토를 거쳤다. 앞으로 신뢰도와 타당도에 대한 보완이 이루어져야 하겠지만, 본 연구의 청소년 성역할정체성 척도는 시대와 연령에 적합한 척도로서 다른 어느 척도보다도 현재 우리나라 청소년이 인식하고 있는 성 고정관념을 객관적으로 측정할 수 있는 도구이다.
The purpose of this study is to develop a "Sex-Role Inventory for Korean Adolescents". A sex-role scale which can measure masculinity and femininity perceived by Korean adolescents by today"s cultural standards more accurately needs to be developed. Developing a Sex-Role Inventory for Korean Adolescents follows the same procedure as the Bem Sex Role Inventory and the Korean Sex Role Inventory. In the first preliminary study, 188 personality characteristics were gathered and through the second preliminary study 50 items were selected, including 18 items each for masculinity and femininity. The inventory showed high reliability ranging from Cronbach"s alpha .77 to .87, and rather reasonable degree of face validity and content validity. In developing the Inventory, it was observed that the contents of masculinity and femininity that today"s adolescents recognized were different from those of KSRI of 1990. Therefore this Inventory is better suited for measuring gender role identity of Korean adolescents of today. Further study is necessary to closely verify the reliability and validity of this Inventory.
