요리활동에서의 사회적 상호작용을 통한 유아의 이해구축과정

Children"s constructive understanding process through social interaction in cooking activities

  본 연구는 요리활동에서의 사회적 상호작용을 통해 유아들이 어떻게 물질의 변화에 대한 이해를 구축해가는 지 그 과정을 알아보고자 하였다. 본 연구는 유치원종일반에 다니는 만 5세 여아 4명을 소집단으로 구성하여 총 7가지 요리활동을 6주간 수행하도록 한 후 자료를 분석하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 유아들은 오 감각을 사용한 관찰과 탐색을 통해 요리활동에서의 여러 가지 물질의 변화를 발견하였다. 둘째, 유아들은 또래와의 상호작용을 통해 물질의 변화에 대한 인지적 이해구축 뿐 만 아니라 또래와의 갈등, 요리과정에서의 문제해결을 통해 사회적 합의의 중요성을 인식하였고, 자발적 참여를 통해 자율성과 성취감 등을 얻은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 교사의 적절한 질문은 유아가 자신의 경험과 이해를 바탕으로 반성적으로 사고하고 제기된 문제에 대해 스스로 해결할 기회를 제공하는 것으로 나타났다.

&nbsp;&nbsp;This research addresses itself to the investigation of the following questions; how social interactions influence the children&quot;s constructive understanding of the concept in question.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;Five year old four girls participated in seven kinds of cooking such as pop corn making, egg boiling and frying, making pizza, ice cake making, making tea and jello making. All process were video taped, recorded and documented.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;Major ftndingings were as follows; First, To understand the process of the change, children&quot;s direct, sensory experiences were essential. Second, Peer interactions posed cognitive conflicts such as different approach and opposite opinion. These conflicts naturally invited group discussions and widened their understanding of the concept at hand.
