The purpose of this study was to examine the Effect of physical extracurriculum activities on the physical self-concept of elementry students. To achieve this purpose, The subjects were 409 students in 5th, 6th grade in elementary schools in Busan. The data for this study was collected through the survey questionnaires. The questionnaires of this study was the physical self-concept scale for the Youth(Choi, Chung & Kim 2005). The sub-factors of physical self-concept were physical attractiveness, health, flexibility, physical activity, body fat, strength, sport competence, and endurance. we got through independent sample t-test and one-way ANOVA with the collected data in SPSS 10.0.<BR> The results of this study are as follows;<BR> 1. The physical self-concept of elementary students according to participation of physical extracurriculum activities are significant differences. The physical activity participation group is higher than non-participation group in the physical self-concept. Especially, the participation group is higher than in physical attractiveness, health, physical activity, body fat, strength, sport competence, and endurance except flexibility.<BR> 2. The physical self-concept of elementary school students according to participation term of physical extracurriculum activities are significant differences. The group over 2 years is higher than another groups in the physical self-concept. Especially, There is significant difference in physical attractiveness, physical activity, strength, sport competence, and endurance except health, flexibility, body fat.<BR> 3. The physical self-concept of elementary school students according to participation frequency of physical extracurriculum activities are not significant differences. There is not significant difference in all sub-factors: physical attractiveness, health, flexibility, physical activity, body fat, strength, sport competence, and endurance.
