Obesity is on the increase from hyper nutrition, irregular life habits, lack of exercise, excessive stress in modern. This obesity increases the development of cardiovascular diseases, such as hyperlipidemia, atherosclerosis, stroke.(Matsuzawa, 2001).<BR> Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of 12-week aerobic training wity obese middle-aged women on serum lipid, lipoprotein, Apolipoprotein, PAI-1-1 as the risk factors of atherosclerosis.<BR> Subjects were fourteen obese middle-aged women, known to have %fat for at least 30%. The exercise intensities are decided by regression equations between % HRmax and speed(m/min). Subjects were trained during 12weeks by treadmill(50%HRmax, 4 frequencies/week, 40min).<BR> Paired t-test was used to evaluate the difference of pre and post 12 weeks aerobic training. The 0.05 level of significance was as critical level for the study.<BR> TC, TG and Apo B were significantly(p<.01) decreased respectively 27.01㎎/㎗, 29.78㎎/㎗, 17.5㎎/㎗. AI and PAI-1 were significantly(p<.001) decreased respecitvely 1.13, 33.12(㎎/㎗), LDL-C was decreased 12.17㎎/㎗ in exercise group. In addition, we found that HDL-C was increased by 7.40㎎/㎗(p<.01), Apo A-I was increased by 14.60㎎/㎗(p<.01), respectively in exercise group. but all item did not change in control group.<BR> Thus, the 12-week aerobic training with obese middle-aged women decreases serum TC, TG, LDL-C, Apo B, AI and improves Serum lipid, lipoprotein, Apolipoprotein though increasing HDL-C and Apo A-I.<BR> Also, It is considerable that the aerobic training prevent the develop ment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases from boesity by reducing PAI-1 as thrombogenesis factor.
