A Study on the Introduction of Port Incentive to Strengthen Port Competitiveness - Focusing on PyeongtaekㆍDangjin Port -

  Due to the globalization of economy, ports face keen competition among the adjacent competing ports. In a view of port competitiveness, lots of literature revealed that logistics cost is influential key factors in a choice of port calling. The conception of port incentives thus has become more important to the port authority in strategic sense because it has aggrandized itself to maintain competitive power in a view of logistics cost. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the status of port incentives and draw suggestions in applying appropriate port incentives in PyongtaekㆍDangjin port, to examine key alternatives and suggestions for the inducement of appropriate port incentive to managing body of PyongtaekㆍDangjin port, field survey was conducted. The analysis result revealed that the port incentives for Korea-China transshipment cargo is very influential factor on successful port incentives inducement in PyongtaekㆍDangjin port.
