This thesis aims to research on the true colors of sorrows in Suseongji. This thesis began to reconsider the result of study on Susoengji that were a criticism, a satire, an allegory, a resistance and a curse toward the reality which the writer face up to. For this purpose, this thesis considered the observation process of sorrows and coping with sorrows in Suseongji.<BR> We could not know the origin and reasons of Sorrows. Sorrow is a kind of something inscrutable and uncontrollable, even though the king of mind and the limitless being. This means that sorrows deny itself to be determined logically and rationally. This also means that rationally and logically coping with the sorrows is impossible. The only way of coping with sorrows are drinking liquors.<BR> And also, characteristics of style in Suseongji are irony and wit. Sorrows are deny itself to be determined logically and rationally. So it is the only way to cope with liquors and express by wit and irony. In actual fact, when the Liquor appeared, the style of Suseongji abruptly change. The slow and gloom mood suddenly change into bright and speed. And every sorrows surrender under the general Liquor except Gulwon. It seems that the writer failed to plot out the rational narration.<BR> This thesis has made a significant contribution on the study of Suseongji. Past studies on Susoengji focus on the reality in it and writer"s critical attitudes toward contemporary world. But this thesis concentrated on the work itself. By this method, it is cleared these several points. First, there are self-reflections as a human beings in Suseongji and also, romantic trends in literary works at 16th century. Second, researchers have to pay attention to the style of Suseongji, its its techniques of writing and the origin etc. As fact, the researcher of Suseongji should study on the relation between Chosa and Suseongji.
