유형별 산업내 무역패턴의 산업특성별 결정요인 연구

A Study on Determinants of Intra-Industry Trade Patterns Within Different Types of Industry Based on Characteristics of Industry

&nbsp;&nbsp;유형별 산업내 무역패턴에 대한 사전 분석 결과 한국 산업의 경우 수직적 산업내 무역(VIIT)패턴, 그 중 저품질 수직적 산업내 무역(LQVIIT)패턴이 지배적이었으나 한편으로는 고품질 수직적 산업내 무역(HQVIIT)패턴이 높은 수준으로 증가하고 있는 특성을 보인다. 산업특성별 분석결과에 있어서는 인적자본집약도가 꾸준한 증가세를 보였으며 수직적 제품차별화정도도 꾸준히 진전된 모습을 시현했다. 특히 1998년 이후 큰 폭의 증가세를 보이고 있는 바, 이는 1998년 이후의 현저한 고품질 수직적 산업내 무역(HQVIIT)패턴의 증가세와 더불어 본고의 실증분석 상 중요 가설과 연계된다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;실증 분석 결과 수평적 제품차별화가 HIIT패턴을 증가시키고 자본집약도 증대 및 수직적 제품차별화 수준의 향상이 HQVIIT(LQVIIT)를 증가(감소)시킬 것이라는 본 고의 핵심적인 가설이 대부분 지지되는 것으로 분석되었는 바, 이는 고품질 산업내 무역 확대라는 무역구조 고도화를 위해서는 자본집약도 확대와 품질 다양성에 기반한 수직적 제품차별화 수준의 증대가 절대적으로 필요함을 시사한다.

&nbsp;&nbsp;This study classified the intra-industry trade patterns into different categories in an attempt to consider determinants by industry.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;The empirical analysis of HIIT pattern indicates that the expansion of horizontal product differentiation increases HIIT pattern. Human capital intensity was found to push up the level of HQVIIT in a statistically significant way. The hypothesis which assumes that the advancement of vertical product differentiation will lead to the increase in HQVIIT has the statistical significance based on both(fixed, random) models. Finally, the expectation that the estimation outcome, human capital intensity, physical capital intensity, vertical product differentiation variables will reduce LQVIIT was met based on its estimation.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;All things considered, the core hypothesis of this paper, which assumed that the horizontal product differentiation would increase HIIT and the increased capital intensity and the improved vertical product differentiation would increase(decrease) HQVIIT(LQVIIT), was valid, which suggests that the improved vertical product differentiation level based on the expansion of capital intensity and quality diversification is absolutely prerequisite to accomplish a high advanced international trade structure, that is, the expanded high quality intra-industry trade pattern.
