Development and Application of Task-based Language Instructional Model for English Communicative Competence in the Elementary School

  The purpose of this study was to develop a task-based language instructional model suitable for the elementary English education. It also aims to verify the effectiveness of the model in the elementary school. The results of this experiment and the conclusion of this study can be summarized like the followings.:First, English classes based on the task-based language instructional model facilitated elementary school students" English communicative competence, especially fluency. Second, the application of the task-based instructional model to English classes did not show the statistic significance in pronunciation area of M group of each grade. Third, the application of the task-based instructional model to English classes facilitated the students" confidence in commanding English.
