A Study on the Directions of Developing CD-ROM titles based on the National Elementary English Curriculum

  The purpose of this study is to propose the directions of developing CD-ROM titles based on the National Elementary English Curriculum. In order to achieve this purpose, the National English Curriculum is reviewed and the problems of CD-ROM titles already developed are analysed in terms of the design of learning contents and technical components. This study emphasized three importances of developing CD-ROM titles as teaching material. First, the effective methods of teaching-learning and testing should be devised. Second, various types of teaching materials such as animation, module, pictures, etc., should be presented. Finally, learning contents based on the achievement standards of the national curriculum should be designed in detail. In technical components, it is considered that the systems of database recording the degrees of students" achieving educational goals are established in the framework of CD-ROM titles, and the remote-control device linking to PC is used in the classroom effectively.
