미술과와 사회과의 간학문적 통합요소 분석 - 초등교육을 중심으로

An Analysis on the Common Factors of the Art Education Subject and the Social Studies Subject in the Elementary Schools - Focused on Elementary Education -

  이 연구는 그동안의 미술교육이 창의성을 목적으로 아동의 삶과 유리된 채 실기중심의 형식주의에 치중해왔던 점에 문제를 제기하고, 미술이 삶의 총체적 반영으로써 사회적, 역사적, 문화적 소산이라는 관점에서 미술의 사회적 기능과 역할에 토대한 미술교육의 본질을 회복하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 미술과와 사회과는 사회현상과 현실을 토대로 한다는 점에서 본질적으로 통합적이다. 미술과와 사회과의 통합은 아동들로 하여금 자기를 둘러싼 세계와 사람들, 그리고 자기 자신을 발견하고, 인식하는 학습을 제공한다. 현행 교과서의 내용에는 통합적 요소가 많다. 따라서 이 연구는 미술과와 사회과의 간학문적 성격을 규명하고, 통합방법을 개발하여 두 교과의 연계성 있는 교과서 단원의 통합요소를 통합의 의의와 방법의 관점에서 분석하였다. 이러한 통합요소는 미술과와 사회과의 통합적 교수？학습 방법 개발을 위한 기초적인 자료로 활용할 수 있다는 데 이 연구의 의의가 있다.

&nbsp;&nbsp;The purposes of this study were to analyze the problems of the extant art education, and to retrieve the essence and genuine roles of the art education in the elementary schools. The problems of the extant art education identified was an ‘expression oriented formalism‘ which is isolated from the life of students. Since the art is a wholistic reflection of human life, the art education should be implemented on the bases of social, historical, and cultural symbolic perspectives which are to be the foundation of social roles of the art education.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;Based on the literature review, the study has found the followings. The subject of art education and the social studies subject in the elementary schools were in common in that sense of sharing the common contents of social phenomenon and present social situation. Integration of these two subjects can provide students with understanding of the environment and people encompassed his situation, and cause him to discover and conceive his identity, and finally make him establish his own world.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;Since the common factors were organized in the contents of extant curriculum of the art education and the social studies subject, in the main body of this study, the researcher has articulated the common units and the integrated factors of the units between two subjects. The extraction of common units has been accomplished based on the inter-disciplinary and integrated approach. And based on the significance and method of integration of two subjects, the researcher has been re-analyzed the common factors among the each extracted units.
