Acceptable Requirements for Descriptions stated in Transport Documents under DC focused on ICC DOCDEX Decisions

&nbsp;&nbsp;This study is to review the acceptable requirements for the descriptions stated in transport documents under documentary credits focused on ICC DOCDEX decisions.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;The ICC DOCDEX system is a document-based mechanism to resolve disputes that arise under documentary credits. The requirements of transport documents under documentary credits are stipulated in sub-Articles 23, 27 of UCP 500 and in Paras. 73-99, 144-182 of ISBP. These stipulations are supported by a number of ICC DOCDEX decisions. According to the decisions, transport documents with the exception of the commercial invoice the goods may be described in general terms not inconsistent with the description of the goods in the credit.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;By using the results of this study, it will be expected to reduce the number of transport documents not accepted by banks or applicants under documentary credits.
