대학 순위평가의 국가간 비교 연구

&nbsp;&nbsp;최근 들어 우리나라에서 대학의 순위가 주요 관심사로 대두되고 있다. 특히, 세계 대학순위는 대학의 국제경쟁력으로 인식되기도 한다. 본 논문은 이러한 관심을 반영하여 세계의 주요 대학순위평가에 대하여 조사하고 비교분석하고 순위평가의 발전을 위한 제안을 하였다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;비교분석은 대학을 대상을 하는 각종 순위평가를 대학경쟁력 순위평가, 학술역량 순위평가, 기타 순위평가로 분류한 후 각각의 영역에서 대표적인 순위평가들의 평가지표, 가중치 및 방법론에 주안점을 두고서 이루어졌다. 연구결과 이들 대학순위들의 형식과 방법론은 매우 다양하게 나타났다. 특히 영역 구성, 지표수, 점수계산법 등에서 많은 차이를 보였다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;대학순위평가는 대학의 상호경쟁을 통하여 국가경쟁력을 상향시키는데 기여하고 있다. 그러나 대학순위를 위한 지나친 경쟁과 관심은 오히려 대학교육을 잘못된 방향으로 이끌 수도 있음을 명심해야 한다.

&nbsp;&nbsp;University ranking is becoming one of major concerns in korea recently. World university ranking, especially, is regarded as international competitiveness of each universities. I analysis eight major university rankings and suggest several plans for it&quot;s development.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;I classify University rankings into three categories, based on their major purpose : university competitiveness ranking, academic ranking and others. And then, I make a comparative study of their format, content, and methodology focus on criteria, item, weight, and calculating method, The eight rankings I examine differ in their format, content, and methodology. Most importantly, the number and the nature of the measures that the rankings include vary significantly.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;It is unquestioned that university ranking is contribute to improve national competitiveness from mutual competition. But, We should remember that excessive concern and competion on ranking lead university to side way.
