A Study on the Correlation of Characters and Fictional space - withe a focus on Su Hui"s O Daechun-dong

&nbsp;&nbsp;Nobody can exist beyond space. Comprehension of space is prerequisite to appreciating the contemporary novels profoundly. Especially in the work Su Hui&quot;s O Daechun-dong , fictional space is the first step toward the comprehension of the work. There are 8 pieces of short stories in Su Hui&quot;s O Daechun-dong . The setting of 8 pieces of short stories in Su Hui&quot;s O Daechun-dong is Chungchungnam-do Daechun-ci. Thus these 8 pieces of short stories in Su Hui&quot;s O Daechun-dong are understanded as a variation for a living in Daechun-ci.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;This study is aimed at reviewing the spatial imagination that the novelist Su Hui invokes readers to foster in the space she creates in her works. All the stories in Su Hui&quot;s O Daechun-dong are concentrated into one theme ; the placeness of Daechun-ci which means a state of a local place. The aim do this thesis is to study the various inner states of the characters relating with the placeness.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;All the different stories show a variety aspect of the Dachun-ci&quot; placeness as well as those of chracters, the sujects and the symbolism in all the stories repeat again and again. Also escaping from the closed space that characters lives now is a central theme, whether that escape is physical or merely spiritual. In Su Hui&quot;s O Daechun-dong the characters&quot;s attitude toward the escaping from the closed space is complex.
