‘A tale’ is the longest concept and form of story. The story which has the letters and take the literary form among these stories, calls "the tale literature". The tale literature text didn"t implement its value as the work of art. However, it has the clear value because it germinated an author"s creative cognition. From such the aspect, the literature created by modifying the tale literature can be the text which clearly exposes the author"s creative will and writing.
This study was focused on ‘On-dal tale’. The first tale literature which acculturated it is the Biographies in the “Samguk-sagi(三國史記)”. This book was published based on the Confucian value, expecially ‘Loyalty’.
However, modern literature writers approached the tale from the different viewpoint. Their three aspects can be summarized as follows.
Firstly, the writers get disillusioned at politics and tend to express it through fatalism. The poem of Do, Jong-hwan “On-dal” and the play of Choi, In-hun “Where is the place that we will again meet in being something?” are included in this aspect. On-dal in these works became a general but was not interested in a social success. But, he always leads the van. It is because he believes that it is his fate.
Secondly, They tend to recognize the problem of reality through consciousness on femininity. The poem of Park, Ra-Yun “Princess Pyeonggang living in Seoul” and the novel of Kim, Ji-wun “Princess Pyungang and Idiot Eundal Story” are included in this aspect. These works had the female character "Princess". They cognize their femininity and express their emotion and desire clearly. Because of it, they have conflicts with real situation as well as a patriarchal system.
Thirdly, the character recognizes the self-identify and finds out the new way of life through it. juvenile story of Lee, Hun-Ju “Idiot On-dal” and Musical of theatrical company Kan-da “Mirror Princess Pyeonggang Story” are included in it. These works contain characters who deliver the tale to readers, and mainly describe the process that these characters search their self-identity.
Thus, in the modern literature, the acculturation of the tale literature does not accept the original text, but also show the modification of various forms according to the writer"s creative cognition. Such the acculturation is connected to the writer"s writing aspect. This part indicates the reason why the process of boosting the writer"s perception on reality and history is necessary in the writing education.
