This paper deals with story of Joseph in the Quran. He had a dream that eleven stars, the sun and the moon were bowing to him. The ten brothers of Jacob became jealous of him because of their father"s love for Joseph more than them. In the heat of their jealousy, they threw him into the well. This is the first trial of him. The people of caravan who passed by took him out of the well. When Joseph"s brothers knew that he was taken by the caravan, they went to them and said that he was their slave who had fled from them and sold him to one of the caravans. This is the second trial of him. The one who bought from Egypt was one of the king"s minister, who was in charge of the treasury.
The wife of the minister was attracted toward Joseph because he was a very handsome youth and of awesome appearance but he protected himself from committing indecency and the evil plots of the women. This is the third trial of him. He was proven innocent but the minister and his wife came to conclusion that he should be imprisoned for a while, so he entered into the prison with him two youths. This is the forth trial of him.
The King"s dream was the main reason for Joseph to come out of the prison in full honour and dignity. When it all clear to the king, the chastity and innocence of Joseph and when the king came to discover the knowledge of Joseph. the king made him in charge of the whole land of Egypt. When the parents of Joseph came to him in Egypt, he received them with full honour
Joseph lived one hundred and ten years. When death approached him, he asked his family to take his body and bury him beside his fathers, if they leave Egypt. So they embalmed his body and placed him in a coffin. It remained in Egypt till the time of Moses. Then they took him out from Egypt and buried him in the land of Canaan.
