A Study on CP(Compliance Program) of Strategic Items

&nbsp;&nbsp;Because of the tightened concerns over terrorism and national security raised by the attacks of September 11, 2001, multilateral export control regimes tightened export controls of dual-use goods and technology for national security. In order to build effective export controls, not only export regulations by government agencies, but also internal export controls within private companies are necessary. This internal export control system within firms is called CP(Compliance Program) or ICP(Internal Compliance Program), EMS(Export Management System).<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;The purpose of this paper is to discuss CP as proactive measures to prevent violating export controls and thus to promote the introduction of Korean firms&quot; CP through analyzing CP system in both America and Japan, and case study.
