A Study on the Revision History and Revised Main Contents of the Basic Act on E-Commerce

  Over the recent years, the Internet has resulted in changes that can be revolutionary in lives. Especially, the Internet-based E-commerce is increasing exploding and disputes arising out of them also are rising. Recognizing the importance of such E-commerce, recently, Basic Act on Electronic Commerce was enacted in 1999 to support E-commerce nationwide. But this Act was revised to resolve legal disputes by accomodating the diffusion of e-commerce and the swift change of IT and environments. The purpose of this paper is to contribute to the activation of e-commerce in Korea by investigating the main changes in revised Basic Act on Electronic Commerce and looking into the main issues and problems of revised Basic Act on Electronic Commerce.
