민족경제론과 대중경제론 - 민족경제론의 현실적 변용으로서 대중경제론에 대하여(1960년대말~70년대초)

National-Popular Economics and the Theory of Mass Economy : On the Theory of Mass Economy as the Actual Version of National-Popular Economics

  이 글은 박정희 정권 시기에 대표적인 진보적 대안 경제학의 역할을 수행했던 박현채의 민족경제론이 현실 정치와 결합되면서 어떻게 변용되었는지에 대해 생각해 보려는 것이다. 구체적으로 1960 년대 말 70년대 초에 박현채가 박정희 반공 개발독재 체제에 대항한 대표적 야당 정치인 김대중의 현실 정치 활동을 지원하면서 구성했던 대안 경제론, 즉 ‘대중경제론’으로 불렸던, 민족경제론의 현실적 변용의 내용을 검토하고, 그것이 가진 강점과 약점 그리고 발전적 수정 가능성에 대해 살펴 본다.

&nbsp;&nbsp;Park Hyun Chai&quot;s National-popular Economics, which is called Minjok -kyungjai-ron is the most eminent progressive economics of Korea since the Park Chung-hee era. It still remains very important legacies in the further development of Korean progressive economic thought. This paper is to study how Park Hyun Chai&quot;s progressive economics was transformed when it was engaged in the actual politics.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;Park Hyun Chai&quot;s meeting with Kim Dae Jung, who was a famous politician in the opposition parties, in the late 1960s and early 1970s was a typical and very interesting case that Park Hyun Chai&quot;s economics was engaged in the actual politics. This article is to examine over how much this engagement was successful and might have better results in terms of the design of alternative economic theories and concrete policies against the developmental dictatorship of Park Chung-hee.
