Even if automated and immanent grammar exists in native language speakers, grammar education is still necessary for learners to use the language accurately, creatively and extensively.<BR> Grammar and function can be integrated on the axis of meaning. The organization of education contents that integrate meaning and grammar enhances the performance of grammatical knowledge. The communication of meaning is a key factor of actual communication, and if learners come to understand that grammatical knowledge is the mechanism that composes meanings, the transition and performance of knowledge become easier as that much. Language users utilize grammatical knowledge when words are not sufficient to express meanings. This suggests that education through the integration of grammar and function centering on meaning is significantly effective in enhancing communication skills.<BR> The present study examined the significances of integrative grammar education for effective grammar education in elementary school, and looked for integrative grammar education methods. In addition, we designed a teachinglearning model for integrative grammar education and implemented the model.<BR> This study is considered meaningful in that it searched for integrative grammar education methods required by the new curriculum before the revised curriculum is applied. However, this study has a limitation in that the designed teachinglearning model for integrative grammar education and its implementation were not verified through field application.<BR> Research should be made continuously for designing teachinglearning plans based on the teachinglearning model for integrative grammar education, verifying the plans through applying them in classes, and developing various language teaching materials for integrative grammar education.
