Even though Su-jang Kim had created a lot of literary works with various phases, there has been no study on the continuance of his works because they are not Yeon-Sijos. This paper arranges his works and shows that Su-jang Kim has certain intentions that are displayed both formal aspects and contents aspects. A summary for this paper follows.
1. Su-jang Kim devides his works into Phyung-Sijos and Saseol-Sijo and makes boundaries by putting two pieces of unique Sijo between them. This arrangement is not the simple division following the length of Sijo, but the division reflecting the well-known Sijos in those days.
2. In Su-jang Kim"s literary works, Phyung-Sijos and Saseol-Sijos strictly vary in the respect of contents. In his Phyung-Sijos, the retrospect on the past and alienation felt in his old days are consistently described from the beginning to end. The reason he used this kind of method is to express the solemnness because Phyung-Sijo is lyrics of legitimate songs. Saseol-Sijos basically represent the refinement and his works are set for this. In the beginning of the work, it sings the conditions of refinement, and shows various aspects of refinement in the back. Specially, in the climax of the refinement, the writer shows his self-praise. He closes his work with self-praise in singing with much mirth.
