우리나라 전래동화와 창작동화에 나타난 장애 등장인물의 이미지 비교

Comparative Study between Korean Folk Tales and Korean Created Story Books on the Image of Characters with Disabilities

  본 연구는 우리나라 전래동화와 창작동화에 나타난 장애 등장인물의 이미지를 내용분석법을 사용하여 비교 분석함으로써 장애 등장인물의 이미지의 시대적 변화를 연구하였다. 창작동화에서 전래동화에 비해 정신적, 신체적 장애 등장인물이 좀 더 확대된 장소에서 확대된 대상과 다양하고 긍정적인 상호작용하고, 자신의 일도 스스로 성취하는 인물로 묘사되고 있다. 특히 창작동화에서 전래동화와 달리 친구와의 상호작용도 높았다. 전래동화와 창작동화에서 정신적 장애는 신체적 장애에 비해 부정적으로 묘사되고 있다. 특히 창작동화에서 신체적 장애는 장애가 없는 등장인물과 크게 차이가 없는 등장인물로 묘사되고 있다. 이는 21세기의 공학의 발달, 장애인을 위한 편의시설 설치, 그리고 특수교육의 발달이 신체 장애인의 독립성을 지원하기 때문에 나타나는 결과라고 여겨진다.

&nbsp;&nbsp;This study was conducted a comparative analysis between Korean folk tales and Korean created story books on the image of characters with disabilities using contents analysis.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;In the created storybooks, characters with mental and physical disabilities displayed interaction with more expanded and various characters and settings, more positive relationships with others, and higher achievement to their own tasks than in Korean fairly tales. In particular, their interaction with friends exhibits very well in the created storybooks compared to in Korean fairly tales. Characters with mental displayed more negative manner than physical disabilities in Korean created story books as well as in Korean fairly tales. But the characters with physical disabilities displayed to have little difference from other characters without disabilities in Korean created story books, while not in Korean fairly tales. These findings indicate that images of characters with disabilities have been changed into those with independence of those characters with physical disabilities in Korean story books, which may be attributed to establishment of convenient facilities for the disabilities and development of technology and special education.
