Consumers" Awareness and Information Needs for Health-Functional Foods

&nbsp;&nbsp;The purpose of this study was to explore the consumers&quot; awareness and information needs for indication and advertisement of health-functional foods. The questionnaire survey method was utilized to collect data, and 300 consumers were selected as a sample. The major findings as follows;<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;1. The product indication was adequate but advertisement of broadcast media and print media were not.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;2. Consumers&quot; interest of health-functional foods was common level, and between of the lowest income group and the highest income group were relatively high average degree on the interest of health-functional foods<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;3. Consumers&quot; knowledge about health-functional foods was low. Consumers answered a wrong answer for 5 questions of 7 questions.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;4. Consumers&quot; information needs for health-functional foods were high in the side of the comparisons between health-functional foods and medicine, information about the indication and types of health-functional foods.
