역할놀이 중심 영어체험학습시설 활용 방안에 따른 초등영어 수준별 과제활동의 필요성

The purpose of this study was to investigate English teachers" perceptions of the students" Role Play activities which was mainly introduced to English learning Experience Zone and to find their problems for applying the practical application to English learners" study. To achieve this purpose, a questionnaire survey was conducted through sixteen provinces with 473 teachers nationwide who were actually teaching English in each primary school. In-depth interviews were also conducted with some of the teachers in order to deep-analyze their perceptions and explore desirable directions for better use of the Zone which was designed for students" Role Play. The results showed that, in general, the students in the schools were mostly satisfied with the Zone environment, but most of teachers were little aware of the ways of how to apply the Role Play approach. The results also showed that one of the main reasons why the students were little actively involved in the Zone was their lack of objective awareness. In order to make students more actively involved in the Role Play through raising students" objective awareness, as one of the core suggestions, it was essential to develop the various task-based activities suitable for the differing levels of students in order to facilitate the learners" real communication through negotiation of meaning and students" actual needs.
