A Study on the Building and Management of Port Governance

&nbsp;&nbsp;The recent worldwide trend towards devolution in the port industry has spawned considerable variety in the types of governance structures now in place around the world. Therefore, governance of port industry has emerged as an important policy agenda. Despite the substantial contribution to understanding the Port Governance in Korea, a review of the literature reveals some weakness in the study of emerging forms of governance in port industry.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;Therefore, this study aims to investigate the status of port governance and draw alternatives in applying appropriate port governance system in Korean port. In particular, this paper focuses on port governance in relation to an ongoing deconcentration of port management. to examine key success factors on Building and Management of Port Governance, field survey was conducted. the analysis result revealed that economical independence and self-government capacity are very influential factor on successful Building and Management of Port Governance.
