The Impact of RFID Technology on the Port Logistics Service Quality

  Recently U.S.A. government made a new trade policy that all cargoes to its country should be imported as RFID tag attached. Because international trade structure of Korean economy mainly depends on U.S.A., the introduction of RFID to Korea"s export depot such as Busan Port is necessary. RFID technology applying to port can also make a contribution to the port competitiveness by improving its port service quality. This paper tries to conceptualize the port service quality, analyze the current status of container terminal operation and ODCY, derive the problems hindering the port service quality, and suggest the new terminal operation process model by applying the RFID technology. We also analyze the effect of this new proc？ess model for the improvement of port service quality.
