미국 대학 교수-학습개발 센터의 운영과 조직에 대한 문화기술적 연구

An Ethnographic Study on The Management and Organization of Centers for Teaching & Learning in the U.S. Universities

  이 연구에서는 미국 4개 대학에서의 장기적 참여관찰과 심층면담, 3개 대학에서의 중, 단기 참여관찰, 2개 전국 규모 컨퍼런스에서의 참여관찰, 그리고 13개 대학 교수-학습개발센터의 웹 사이트 분석과 문헌분석을 토대로 미국 대학 교수-학습개발센터의 조직과 운영 방식을 분석하였다. 또한 우리나라 11개 대학 웹사이트를 분석하고, 8개 대학의 세미나와 워크숍을 참여관찰 하였으며, 주요 운영자와 심층면담도 실시하였다. 연구 결과는 센터의 인적 구성과 조직, 세미나/워크숍/컨퍼런스, 수업개선을 위한 컨설팅 활동으로 나누어 제시되었으며, 우리나라 교수-학습개발 센터를 위한 시사점을 논의하였다.

&nbsp;&nbsp;The aim of this study is to get ideas and tips for the establishment of centers for teaching-learning(faculty development centers) and for the creation of teaching support programs in Korean universities, through an ethnographic study of American faculty development centers. Research methods include long term participant observation and in-depth interviews in four Faculty Development Centers in American universities, short and mid term participant observations in centers of three American universities, eight Korean universities and two national-scope conferences. Analysis of web-pages of centers for teaching &amp; learning in 13 American universities and 11 Korean universities were also conducted.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;The study results are about structure of the centers, topics and organization of seminars, workshops, conferences, and consulting activities. Information provision through webpage are also discussed. The study discusses on the implications from American CTL&quot;s for the establishment and operation of CTL&quot;s in Korean Universities.
