A study on the Creation the Chieftain Shape in North-Korea novels -focused on 1990s-. Dongnam October of Korean Language & Literature 24. The novels of North-Korea creating the Chieftain shape only show the praises of the chieftain, neither criticism nor conflicts. Those novels for Kim Jong Il describe him as a human and the absolute. As a human, he is represented to be a speculative leader, a superior thinker and a bold strategist, with great humanism which Kim Il Sung used to have. As the Absolute, owing to the lack of material as a mythical hero compared to his father, he is consciously using the background of the nuclear-conflict with USA to be the incarnation of loyalty, filial piety and love, or the man from heaven.
In addition, the novels tend to emphasize his features of humaneness, lofty fellowship and fidelity, and describe him as a chieftain who shares the agony of the people, a sentimental and warm-hearted leader who feel concern about his people and country or a merciful parent with filial piety and love, making him a even greater man than Kim Il Sung.
In conclusion, those novels, schematized and composed for the subjects that the Labour Party requests, enumerate beautifications and praises of Kim Jong Il and don"t show any detailed conflicts. They are expected to be created and supplied continuously as long as Kim Jong Il-centered system of North Korea is maintained.
