Approaching to the Implemental issues of the Maritime Labour Convention in Korea

&nbsp;&nbsp;Nowadays, an internationalization of the labour market is a salient phenomenon. Especially on account of the shift of the maritime labour, for example seafarers, maritime industry has a characteristic of internationalization. However there has been many kinds of variety among the world relating to seafarers regulations and Conditions. Many seafarers desire to coordinate maritime labour standard and improve the conditions. It is important to accomplish the unification of maritime labour standard. Finally, on February 2006, 「Maritime Labour Convention, 2006」was adopted by the general conference of the International Labour Organization(ILO) in Geneva, Switzerland.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;This paper briefly describes the background of the main issues and results of 94th session of the general conference held in 2006 and summarizes major issues. The purpose of this study is to investigate the way of implication of the crucial issues in line with new Maritime Labour Convention and to suggest new policies to be adopted by the Korean government.
