본 연구는 한국과 중국의 예비교사들을 대상으로 문화간 감수성을 측정하여 비교한 연구이다. 문화간 감수성이란 다문화적 능력을 갖춘 교사가 되기 위해 필요한 자질로 본 연구에서는 문화간 감수성의 측정을 위해 Chen과 Starosta에 의해 개발된 검사지가 사용되었다. 한국 대학생 301명과 중국 대학생 275명으로 구성된 총 576명을 대상으로 측정한 문화간 감수성의 평균점수를 비교한 결과 한국의 예비교사들의 평균 점수가 중국의 예비교사들에 비해 근소하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 평균점수의 차이가 유의미한 것인지는 T-검증을 통해 문화간 감수성의 5개 하위 영역에서 분석하였다.
Recently, "multicultural society" and "multicultural education" are the rasing issues in South Korea. Since the population of half Korean and half South-East Asian (Kosian) as well as labors of various nationalities have been dramatically increased, the South Korean government begins to pay attention to children of mixed race and labors of various nationalities. Year of 2007, the Ministry of Education and Human Resources has proposed the "Plans for Educational Supporting of a Half Blood Child". There are many argument against the plan. The main critiques to the plan regards to the blurred concepts of multicultural education. It has been also criticized that the plan for training teachers to handle the multicultural atmosphere.<BR> The purpose of study is to provide the current figure of readiness of preservice teachers for the multicultural education in South Korea comparing the intercultural sensitivity between South Korea and Chinese. In the study, it has been assumed that preservice teachers in China would be more sensitive than the preservice teachers of Korea to the multicultural environment because they grew up with 56 different ethnic groups. To verify the assumption, researcher measured the intercultural sensitivity of 301 Korean and 275 Chinese who enrolled in teacher education program of 4 year college. The Intercultural Sensitivity Scale(ISS) developed by Chen, G.M. and Starosta, W.J. has been used for the measurement of intercultural sensitivity of both nations.<BR> Analyzing the data from the samples of both nations it was found that the preservice teachers in Korea show slightly higher scores than those of China. At the end of study, the researcher made some points relating the multicultural education for preservice teachers in Korea.
