An Analysis on the Management of Government -Owned Land using Cadastral Survey

  Management of state/public land entails great sense of duty and responsibility for it is the property of citizens. Recently, the government has acknowledged that state/public land cannot be managed ineffectively anymore and Korea Land Corporation were entrusted with conducting the survey on actual condition of land in the country. Despite the efforts, however, usage of state/public land without permission is still taking place in the country. The survey on the actual condition of the land relied on the graphic or property information. Thus, such an analysis without land surveying cannot be sufficient for understanding accurate occupancy of state/public land. This is the reason why the survey on actual condition of the entire amount of state/public land must be conducted with land surveying. From this study, it has found that illegal land occupancy constituted 53% lots of the public land. The management with a cadastral survey in the field will enable sustainable, not merely one-time, management, and additionally, such an approach will make it possible thorough the management of state/public land as changes in status of illegal occupancy can be detected at any time.
