In Korean language various endings and particles are well developed as one of the agglutinative languages. Even in the period of contemporary Korean language various grammatical morphemes are newly being generated.<BR> Among them, most representative is "터." The "터", as an independent noun, mainly indicating space in middle Korean language has grown to become a dependent noun representing "situation and circumstance" in modern Korean language.<BR> Since around the 19th century, it has been transforming into the pre-final ending of "-ㄹ테-", as the complement "-ㄹ", and the succeeding verb "이-" are combined. Even though the "터" is stipulated as independent noun and dependent noun only in Korean language grammar, in real-life Korean language it gets becoming pre-ending showing a kind of mode and tends to be added by "-ㄹ테-."<BR> Therefore, this study, based on the Sejong corpus data, investigates the usages of independent noun "터" and dependent noun "터", examines the relationship that they maintain with preceding and succeeding elements, and discusses the application methods to Korean language education through frequency analysis on them.
