A Study on the Efland"s Art Education

  애플랜드는 동시대를 살아가고 있는 미국의 미술교육학자이다. 그의 미술교육 사상은 포스트모더니즘과 인지 중심 미술교육을 배경으로 전개되었다. 애플랜드는 미술 교육을 시대적. 사회적, 문화적 영향 아래 학생들의 삶과 관련성을 가져야야함을 논의하였고 인지적으로 융통성 있는 미술 교육과정을 제안하였다. 그는 현재의 미술교육이 과거에 비해 진보하였는지 의문을 제기하면서 수용적인 태도로 과거 미술 교육 사조를 되돌아보길 권고하고 있다. 본 연구는 애플랜드의 미술교육 사상에 관한 논의를 통해 현재 우리의 미술교육을 성찰하는 계기를 마련하고자 한다.

  Efland is a American-born art educator living with our generation. His focus within art education started with a foundation centered around postmodernism and cognition. Efland stressed that art education. from under periodic, social. and cultural perspectives, must have an association with the lives of students. He proposed a cognitively flexible curriculum of art education. He raises the question of whether present-day art education has progressed from the past. He urges people to view art education with an accepting attitude. This research holds the purpose of providing an opportunity to examine the conditions of our art education through investigating the Efland"s perspectives on art education.
