The purpose of this study is to verify the hypothesis that seniors who make meaningful use of their spare time for religious activities feel happier than those who do not. For that purpose, I attempted, firstly, to make definitions of concepts such as leisure, religious, and happiness (or satisfaction of life).
Secondly, theoretical discussions are made on the causal relation between leisure and religious life and between religious life and satisfaction of life.
Thirdly, I attempted to proved the hypothesis mentioned above by using the supporting evidences from the secondary data collected through the critical review of the precedent studies related to the causal relation between religious and satisfaction of life.
Based on this findings, I proposed a welfare policy that can support religious activities of the users of the welfare facilities founded by religious groups such as Joge Order, a Buddhist order.
